ABOUT THIS POSITION

 

We are currently seeking a Direct Sales Representative to join our team.
Reporting to the Sales Manager, you will be responsible for collaborating with current and identifying future clients, assessing project specs, creating quotes, and ensure project details are properly documented for submission to the Operations team for processing into orders. You will also provide direct oversite throughout a project to ensure it remains on target, budget, and fulfills the customers’ expectations.

 

The ideal candidate will generate demand, interest, and excitement for North American Steel Inc. product lines and related services, while creating a steady pipeline of business.

 

This is a unique opportunity based out of Whitby, Ontario to represent a Canadian based manufacturers product in a receptive and growing market.

NAS is comprised of engineering and sales professionals that work from 15 different locations across Canada and the United States. Our most innovative and cutting-edge racking and shelving products are manufactured in 4 full-scale manufacturing plants and offices located in Whitby, ON, Colborne, ON, Mississauga, ON and Nisku, AB.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

 

  • A University or College education in marketing, or a technical stream is an asset.
  • Experience in capital projects sales and oversite
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Be enthusiastic and enjoy working with customers.
  • Self-motivated, and self-directed in building long sales pipelines
  • A drivers license and personal mode of transport
  • Professional Oral and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of the Microsoft suite of software including TEAMS, Excel, and Outlook
  • ERP software and Auto CAD familiarity an asset
  • Flexibility to manage various tasks in various stages of completion
  • Attention to detail and enthusiasm to drive issue resolution


SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS  OR ASSETS:

 

  • Pallet Racking system design, sales, installation experience
  • Sales training
  • Experience in Technical based product sales

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Update weekly reports with existing projects as well as prospected opportunities
  • Execute and assist in driving sales and acquiring new leads and accounts.
  • Building and maintaining a strong relationship with new and existing accounts.
  • Proactively following up with clients to ensure needs are met
  • Able to determine customer / contract needs to recommend the most appropriate solution(s) in a professional and timely manner.
  • Able to identify products and services to best suit customer needs.
  • Connect and build trust with customers to develop strong, long-lasting relationships.
  • Help build a positive, diverse, and equitable work environment with other associates who are also a part of our fast-growing team
  • Always deliver a strong and positive customer experience.
  • Participate in training on product lines to become a resource for our clients
